Each year, Adfero and The National Press Club team up to provide a continuing education series for communications professionals looking to keep informed and get ahead called “Get PR Smart.” Our first event, to be held June 22nd of this year, is entitled, “How Pinterest Can Help Brand Your Cause.” This seminar will equip you with tips and tactics for leveraging your brand’s cause on Pinterest.

Pinterest, the social media bulletin board that allows users to easily pin (share) their images, has become one of the most frequently visited websites on the internet. Perhaps you know this already; whether you are planning an event, looking for photo inspiration or need some wardrobe direction, you’re on Pinterest. But, Pinterest can be used for more than just putting together a DIY wedding. Pinterest can also be a powerful tool for promoting your organization or cause through images. This concept will cause a shift in thinking for many organizations that are heavy on text and white paper writing.

Pinterest should not be viewed as something to avoid because you are used to writing a lot for your organization. Instead, think of it as social media evolving to become more user-friendly. Images are showing up bigger and more often than ever before (take the new Facebook Timeline, for example). Images can speak 1,000 words to your potential consumers, activists and advocates, while sparking an increase in engagement amongst your target audience. So, how can you turn your messages into “pinnable” images? Our Get PR Smart event on June 22 will help you think about your target audience and develop a strategy for reaching the 13.5 million users who are addicted to “pins.”

This is merely a sneak peek of what we will be discussing at the upcoming Get PR Smart event, “How Pinterest Can Help Brand Your Cause.” If you want the inside scoop on Pinterest branding then we look forward to seeing you at the National Press Club on June 22.
