Veteran PR and Issue Advertising Expert to Help Clients Solve Public Affairs Challenges
Washington, D.C. – Adfero Group announced today that veteran communications strategist Michael Wm. Schick has joined the firm as Partner. Schick has more than 25 years of experience managing integrated communications campaigns involving issue advocacy advertising, online communications, media relations, ally development, crisis management, litigation and lobbying support.
For the past five years, Schick was Senior Vice President at Porter Novelli in Washington, D.C., and served as the company’s global leader for alliance building. His clients included the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Business Roundtable, Biotechnology Industry Association, Society of Nuclear Medicine, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Grocery Manufacturers Association, American Beverage Association, Hospital Corporation of America and the Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance. While at Porter Novelli, Schick worked closely with the firm’s digital team to strategize and implement the latest Web 2.0 communications tactics for clients.
“Michael brings a unique depth of experience that will greatly help our clients reach their audiences at the optimal intersecting point, whether it’s online or wherever clients are most influenced,” said Managing Director Jeff Mascott. “I’m confident this respected and multi-talented individual will be a tremendous addition to our already outstanding staff.”
Schick’s prior experience includes head of communications at the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform and COO of Justice Fellowship, the public policy arm of Prison Fellowship. Schick also served for 15 years as a registered lobbyist and foreign agent at the international public affairs firm of Civic Service Inc. In the early 1980s, Schick spent four years as Deputy Press Secretary for U.S. Senator Strom Thurmond (R-SC).
In his new role with Adfero Group, Schick will be a senior advisor on client projects, developing and executing creative strategies to help associations, corporations and others get their messages in front of target audiences in Washington and nationwide. Schick will also play a key role in Adfero’s business development and strategic planning endeavors.
“For many years, I’ve admired the Adfero Group’s ability to employ the latest digital technologies to help clients achieve their public affairs objectives,” Schick said. “I’m delighted to now be a part of this energetic and imaginative team of PR pioneers whose fresh, novel ideas are turning heads – from K Street to Wall Street to Main Street.”
Schick’s award winning work includes two Sabre awards and two Pollie awards. As a much-sought after speaker and university lecturer, Michael’s engaging presentations help audiences across the country understand how to maximize the use of a variety of communications strategies from advertising to Web 2.0.
