The Challenge
When Adfero began working with Congressional offices in 2001, online communication was a relatively unknown entity on Capitol Hill. Member web sites often consisted of bland, government-looking home pages with very little content, and were the full extent of many offices’ Internet outreach.

The situation has changed greatly since then, but many members of Congress still find that they lack the resources to take advantage of the Internet for building constituent relationships. Staffers have been overwhelmed by rising volumes of inbound mail, and as members grow their constituent databases, they find that traditional email programs are not up to the task of sending and tracking such large quantities of outbound email.

Congressional offices also have limited staff capacity, most of which is devoted to legislative work. Unless offices are lucky enough to have exceptionally web-savvy staffers, they do not have the technical and strategic expertise needed to carry out good interactive communication programs with constituents.  This is where Adfero came in, with a number of tools designed to make it easier for non-technical Hill staff to achieve their communications goals.

The Solution
Adfero has combined its professional design and programming expertise with a familiarity with the practical needs of Congressional offices.  With the help of staff members who have previously worked in the legislative arena, Adfero has spent years developing a suite of services that allow clients to quickly and smartly manage their constituent contacts.

In addition to individualized web site designs, Adfero offers a Constituent Relationship Management program that combines every tool an office needs into a simple but highly effective program. With database management, constituent profiles, back-end web site administration, email delivery and tracking, and efficient sorting of inbound communications, it has evolved to become an integrated platform unlike any other.

The Result
Adfero’s CRM solution has made the company an industry leader. Adfero works with more than 150 offices, making it possible for Congress to communicate better with the people it represents. Easier web site maintenance allows offices to have better, more extensive sites, while simplifying the management of both in- and outbound email paves the way to a proactive, rather than defensive, communications strategy. Saving offices the expense of hiring web staff and significantly reducing other staff workloads, Adfero’s efforts on behalf of its many Congressional clients enable them to provide better and more responsive constituent services.
