Darren Scher
Darren Scher is the Chief Operations Officer at Adfero Group. In this role, Darren is responsible for the day-to-day management of Adfero, ensuring that all teams have the resources they need to deliver excellent client service. In addition to overseeing the allocation of resources across the company, Darren supervises both the human resources and facilities management functions.
Formerly Vice President of Interactive Services, Darren played a central role in building Adfero’s interactive and creative teams from the ground up. He has a strong background in overseeing the design and development of websites and mobile applications, and has led projects for a diverse group of clients, including major trade associations, non-profit coalitions and Fortune 500 corporations.
Darren specializes in leveraging cutting edge technologies for achieving the specific goals of each client. He led production of the award-winning interactive advocacy campaign, Speak Now for Kids,, which allowed supporters to share their stories through online video. Darren oversaw development of a WordPress-driven website, 4K for Cancer, which serves as an interactive tool for cyclists to blog during a yearly cross country ride. His expertise in integrating a variety of tools such as open source content management systems (CMS) and proprietary advocacy platforms helps Adfero design custom solutions to communicate effectively.
Before he moved to Washington, D.C., Darren taught U.S. history at a parochial preparatory school in New Jersey where he was involved in local politics by working on several city and town council campaigns in Passaic County. After interning on Capitol Hill for Rep. Randy J. Forbes (VA-4), Darren returned to New Jersey to serve as an executive campaign assistant to the candidate during the 2005 gubernatorial primary.
Darren holds a B.A. in Political Science from Caldwell College in New Jersey, where he graduated cum laude. He completed an M.A. in Political Management from The George Washington University. In his free time, Darren is a Civil War buff, golf enthusiast and ardent fan of the New York Football Giants. He is originally from Clifton, N.J. and currently lives in Arlington, Va.
