James Dowd
James Dowd is the Chief Financial Officer at Adfero Group. James plays a leadership role in Adfero by providing strategic counsel, participating in Adfero’s long term planning and development, and designing and implementing processes to ensure the company’s continued growth and profitability. As the head of Adfero’s operations and financial teams, James oversees all facets of the company’s financial planning, including debt financing, budget management, resource allocation and profit forecasting. James also heads up risk management for Adfero by identifying and neutralizing the financial, operational and strategic risks facing the company. He is additionally responsible for managing the company’s legal matters. James joined Adfero as an intern and has held several positions in the company prior to becoming Vice President.
Before joining Adfero, James served as the Fellow Liaison, Program Administrator and Assistant to the Director for Pediatric Gastroenterology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He also worked as a Field Manager at the Arizona Leadership Institute in Tucson, Arizona.
James earned his MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, where he was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. He received a B.A. in mathematics from Cornell University and also completed an M.A. in political management from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Outside of his work at Adfero, James is an amateur BBQ chef, a sports fan, an American history buff, as well as a Zydeco and Jazz music enthusiast. Although he was born in Cleveland, Ohio, he spent his youth in the D.C./Maryland area and lived in several communities throughout the United States before returning to settle on the East Coast. James currently lives in Rosslyn, Virginia.
