Adfero’s Look Back at 2023

By Lauren Tyler, Chief of Staff

Like many individuals and organizations, the start of the new year has been a time of reflection for our Adfero team. 2023 is a year we will not soon forget, with the grave loss of our founder, Jeff Mascott. Jeff founded Adfero and led the team, until his untimely passing, with the purpose of creating opportunities for people to do what they do best. Jeff lived and shared a growth mindset, encouraging Adfero team members to tackle challenges, take risks, continuously learn, and embrace new opportunities.

It is with this growth mindset that we approached each new challenge and opportunity last year. We stayed true to our core purpose, creating opportunities for people to do what they do best, and our core values to accomplish our goals and achieve success.

1. Turned client challenges into opportunities.

We partnered with new and longstanding clients, across our industry practice areas, to tackle policy challenges with fresh strategies, activate target audiences through compelling messages, and create and motivate change through creative tactics. These opportunities resulted in a record-setting year of growth for the firm.

2. Cultivated community.

We convened more than ten networking and professional development events throughout the year for clients, our team and friends of the firm; bringing together subject matter experts and fresh perspectives from voices both inside and outside the Beltway on timely topics of importance to our community.

3. Nurtured our corporate culture.

We brought our team together to participate in professional development opportunities, including empathy training, and volunteered for organizations like the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and the Kimmel Cancer Center at Sibley Hospital. We also recognized our teammates for their unwavering dedication to our company core values and remembered Jeff, as we awarded our first annual Jeff Mascott Award for Entrepreneurial Mindset.

Looking ahead to this year and beyond, we will continue to approach each new challenge as an opportunity to employ a growth mindset, taking risks, learning and growing each step of the way.
